Easter Long Weekend
Public transport services will operate to a public holiday timetable on Good Friday and Easter Monday, but some services may be altered or will not run. Services will run to a normal Saturday timetable on Easter Saturday and a normal Sunday timetable on Easter Sunday.
Major works this autumn
Works continue on some of the state’s biggest transport projects this autumn. Critical maintenance works will also take place on our rail, tram and road networks to ensure services continue to run reliably.
There’ll be disruptions to the public transport and road networks while these works take place. Be sure to plan ahead and allow extra time or take an alternative route if possible.
Metro Trains
Craigieburn Line
- Craigieburn line trains will run direct to and from Flinders Street, not via the City Loop from 5am Saturday 16 April to last train Sunday 17 April.
Cranbourne and Pakenham Lines
- Cranbourne and Pakenham trains run direct to and from Flinders Street, not via the City Loop, from 6am Saturday 16 April to last train Sunday 17 April.
- Trains on the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines will only run to/from Caulfield Station from 9pm to last train each night from Sunday 17 April to Wednesday 20 April.
- Cranbourne and Pakenham trains run direct to and from Flinders Street, not via the City Loop, from first to last train on Saturday 23 April.
Hurstbridge Line
- Buses replace trains between Clifton Hill and Hurstbridge from 8.35pm Friday 15 April to last train Sunday 17 April.
- Buses replace trains between Heidelberg and Hurstbridge from 8.25pm to last train each night, Monday 18 April to Wednesday 20 April.
Mernda Line
- Buses will replace train services between Clifton Hill and Mernda stations from 9pm to last train each night from Monday 18 April to Friday 22 April.
Sunbury Line
- Buses replace Sunbury line trains between North Melbourne and Sunshine stations from 8.30pm to last service each night from Monday 18 April to Thursday 21 April.
- Buses replace Sunbury line trains between North Melbourne and Sunshine stations from 8.30pm to last service each night from Sunday 24 April to Wednesday 27 April.
Sunbury and Upfield Line
- Sunbury and Upfield line trains run to and from Southern Cross, not to Flinders Street or via the City Loop, from 5.30am Saturday 16 April to 1.15am Sunday 17 April and from 6.15am to last train on Sunday 17 April.
Werribee Line
- Buses replace trains between Laverton and Werribee from 8.30pm Friday 15 April to last service Monday 18 April.

V/Line
Bairnsdale and Traralgon Lines
- Trains on the Bairnsdale and Traralgon lines will run at slower than normal speeds along parts of the line from Tuesday 22 March to Thursday 21 April.
- Coaches will replace select evening trains on the Traralgon and Bairnsdale lines for all or part of the journey at various times from Sunday 24 April to Wednesday 27 April.
Bendigo Line
- Coaches replace select evening trains on the Bendigo line for the entire journey from Sunday 24 April to Wednesday 27 April.
Geelong Line
- Coaches replace select Geelong evening trains for all or part of the journey from Sunday 17 April to Tuesday 19 April.
Seymour and Shepparton Lines
- Coaches replace Seymour and Shepparton line trains for the entire journey from Friday 22 April to Sunday 8 May.
