Anzac Day
Public transport service changes apply on Monday 25 April 2022. This includes special services to help you get to and from the Dawn service at the Shrine of Remembrance as well as disruptions to some services.
Major works this autumn
Works continue on some of the state’s biggest transport projects this autumn. Critical maintenance works will also take place on our rail, tram and road networks to ensure services continue to run reliably.
There’ll be disruptions to the public transport and road networks while these works take place. Be sure to plan ahead and allow extra time or take an alternative route if possible.
Metro Trains
Alamein, Belgrave and Lilydale Lines
- Buses replace trains between Parliament and Camberwell stations on the Alamein, Belgrave and Lilydale lines from 8.45pm to last train each night from Monday 25 April to Wednesday 27 April.
Belgrave and Lilydale Lines
- Buses replace trains between Parliament and Camberwell stations on the Belgrave and Lilydale lines from 8.50pm Friday 29 April to last service Sunday 1 May.
Craigieburn Line
- Buses replace trains on the Craigieburn Line from 9pm Monday 25 April to 9pm Friday 6 May.
Cranbourne and Pakenham Lines
- Trains on the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines will only run to/from Caulfield Station from 9pm to last train each night from Monday 25 April to Wednesday 27 April.
- Trains on the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines will only run to/from Caulfield Station from 9pm Friday 29 April to last service Sunday 1 May.
Glen Waverley Line
- Buses replace Glen Waverley line trains between Richmond and Glen Waverley stations from 8.25pm to last service each night from Monday 25 April to Wednesday 27 April.
- Buses replace Glen Waverley line trains between Richmond and Glen Waverley stations from 8.05pm Friday 29 April to last service Sunday 1 May.
Mernda Line
- Buses will replace train services between Clifton Hill and Mernda stations from 9pm to last train each night from Monday 18 April to Friday 22 April.
Sunbury Line
- Buses replace Sunbury line trains between North Melbourne and Sunshine stations from 8.30pm to last service each night from Monday 18 April to Thursday 21 April.
- Buses replace Sunbury line trains between North Melbourne and Sunshine stations from 8.30pm to last service each night from Sunday 24 April to Wednesday 27 April.

- Route 1, 3a, 5, 6, 11, 12, 16, City Circle, 48, 64, 67, 70, 75, 72 and 109 trams will experience service changes on Monday 25 April.
Route 72
- Service changes apply on Route 72 trams between 7pm Friday 29 April to last tram Saturday 14 May 2022.
V/Line
Bairnsdale and Traralgon Lines
- Trains on the Bairnsdale and Traralgon lines will run at slower than normal speeds along parts of the line from Tuesday 22 March to Thursday 21 April.
- Coaches will replace select evening trains on the Traralgon and Bairnsdale lines for all or part of the journey at various times from Sunday 24 April to Wednesday 27 April.
- Coaches replace selected trains on the Bairnsdale and Traralgon lines on Saturday 30 April and Sunday 1 May.
Ballarat, Ararat and Maryborough Lines
- Coaches replace trains between Southern Cross and Melton on the Ballarat, Ararat and Maryborough lines on Saturday 30 April and Sunday 1 May.
- Coaches replace evening trains on the Ballarat line from Sunday 1 May to Tuesday 3 May.
Bendigo and Swan Hill Lines
- Coaches replace select evening trains on the Bendigo line for the entire journey from Sunday 24 April to Wednesday 27 April.
- Coaches replace Swan Hill line trains between Southern Cross and Bendigo on Saturday 30 April and Sunday 1 May.
Geelong and Warrnambool Lines
- Coaches replace select Geelong and Warrnambool evening trains for all or part of the journey on Friday 29 April.
- Coaches will replace trains on the Geelong Line for all or part of the journey from from Saturday 30 April to Saturday 28 May.
- Coaches replace Warrnambool trains for all or part of the journey from Saturday 30 April to Saturday 28 May.
Seymour and Shepparton Lines
- Coaches replace Seymour and Shepparton line trains for the entire journey from Friday 22 April to Sunday 8 May.
