When travelling on public transport you must wear a fitted face mask covering your nose and mouth and ensure you wear it for your entire journey.
Major works this summer
Works continue on some of the state’s biggest transport projects this summer. Critical maintenance works will also take place on our rail, tram and road networks to ensure services continue to run reliably.
There’ll be disruptions to the public transport and road networks while these works take place. Be sure to plan ahead and allow extra time or take an alternative route if possible.
Metro Trains
Belgrave, Glen Waverley and Lilydale Lines
- Belgrave, Glen Waverley and Lilydale trains run direct to and from Flinders Street, not via the City Loop, from 9pm Friday 26 November to last train Sunday 28 November.
Craigieburn Line
- Buses replace trains between North Melbourne and Essendon from 11.25pm to last train on Wednesday 1 December.
Cranbourne and Pakenham Lines
- Buses replace Cranbourne and Pakenham trains in sections of the Cranbourne and Pakenham Lines from 1am Saturday 20 November to last service Thursday 25 November, due to works.
- Buses replace Cranbourne and Pakenham line trains between Flinders Street and Caulfield stations from 9pm to last train each night, from Monday 22 November to Wednesday 24 November.
- Buses replace Cranbourne and Pakenham trains between Flinders Street and Dandenong stations from 1am Saturday 27 November to last service Sunday 28 November.
- Services on the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines will only run to/from Caulfield Station from 9pm to last train each night Monday 29 November to Thursday 2 December.
- Buses replace trains between Caulfield and Dandenong from 8.45pm to last train each night, Monday 29 November to Wednesday 1 December.
- Buses replace trains between Caulfield and Westall stations from 8.30pm Friday 3 December to 1am Saturday 4 December.
- Buses replace trains between Flinders Street and Caulfield stations from 1am Saturday 4 December to last service Sunday 5 December.
Frankston Line
- Buses replace Frankston line trains between Flinders Street and Caulfield from 1am Saturday 27 November to last service 28 November.
- Buses replace trains between Flinders Street and Caulfield stations from 1am Saturday 4 December to last service Sunday 5 December.
Mernda Line
- Buses replace trains between Epping and Mernda stations from 8.50pm to last train each night from Monday 22 November to Thursday 25 November.
- Buses replace trains between Parliament/Cifton Hill and Reservoir stations from 9pm Monday 29 November to last service Thursday 2 December.
Williamstown Line
- North Williamstown Station is closed from 8.30pm Monday 2 August until last service Friday 10 December.
- Buses replace trains between Newport and Williamstown stations from 8.30pm Friday 20 August until last service Friday 10 December.
Yarra Trams
Routes 3 and 3a
- Route 3 and 3a trams will not service Stop 56 Caulfield Racecourse towards Melbourne University from Wednesday 1 September 2021 until Monday 31 January 2022.
Routes 86
- Buses replace Route 86 trams between Stop 25 – Clifton Hill Interchange and Stop 42 – Dundas Street from 1am Sunday 28 November to last tram Sunday 5 December.
V/Line
Interstate V/Line Services
- V/Line passengers will be able to travel to and from South Australia from Tuesday 23 November, following the easing of cross-border travel restrictions.
- All coaches to and from Mt Gambier will resume running as normal from Tuesday 23 November.
- Coaches heading to Adelaide will resume as normal from Tuesday 23 November and coaches travelling from Adelaide to Albury and Bendigo will resume as normal from Wednesday 24 November
Albury, Seymour and Shepparton Lines
- Coaches replace select trains on the Albury line from Monday 22 November to Sunday 19 December.
- Coaches replace Shepparton Line trains between Southern Cross and Shepparton from Monday 1 December to Friday 12 December.
Bairnsdale and Traralgon Lines
- Coaches replace trains on the Bairnsdale and Traralgon lines from Monday 22 November to last service Thursday 2 December.
- Temporary speed restrictions will be in place on the Bairnsdale and Traralgon lines from Monday 22 November 2021 until Sunday 16 January 2022.
